Easy-to-Lift Robotic Pool Cleaners: Weight and Retrieval Compared

Compare the Dolphin Nautilus CC, Beatbot AquaSense 2 and Polaris FREEDOM Plus by carrying weight, surface parking, remote retrieval and transport.

An easy-to-lift robotic pool cleaner should fit the person who removes it as well as the pool. Reaching the handle, draining the machine and carrying it to storage are separate jobs. Compare the whole routine before choosing a lightweight body, surface parking or an assisted retrieval system.

Quick answer

Shortlist the Dolphin Nautilus CC when lower carrying weight matters, Beatbot AquaSense 2 for automatic surface parking, or Polaris FREEDOM Plus for remote-activated retrieval and a charging caddy. First confirm that the model cleans the areas your pool needs.

Compare the shortlist

These candidates address different handling problems. Published robot weights are not measured wet lift-out loads, and the features below do not establish a performance ranking.

Handling features and buying tradeoffs

Dolphin Nautilus CCApproximately 14.8 lb; floor-and-wall cleaningPool compatibility and whether waterline scrubbing is needed

Look beyond the published weight

Handling includes reaching the robot, bringing it to the edge, allowing water to drain, lifting it onto the deck and carrying it away. Surface parking improves access to the handle; a caddy helps after removal. Neither feature tells you how comfortable the complete routine will feel.

Distinguish robot weight from shipping weight. Then consider wide coping, a high above-ground wall, steps and the route to storage. Ask a dealer to demonstrate removal and let you handle a drained display unit. Check the handle opening and balance before assuming a retrieval feature solves a carrying problem.

Put it into practice

If reaching into the water is the difficult part, surface access deserves attention. If carrying the drained cleaner is the problem, compare body weight and transport options. Start with the stage that causes the most trouble.

Dolphin Nautilus CC: lower carrying weight

Maytronics lists 14.796 pounds for the US Nautilus CC, model 99996113-USB. Its specifications include floor-and-wall cleaning for pools up to 33 feet and top-access filtration. It is the lighter of the two models with published weights compared here.

The tradeoff is coverage: the specifications say no waterline scrubbing. It also has an operating cable to manage. Confirm that those limits fit your pool before choosing it for weight. CC, CC Plus and CC Pro are separate products, so match the exact model number to the offer.

Beatbot AquaSense 2: automatic surface parking

Beatbot documents automatic surface parking when cleaning finishes or the battery runs low, plus SmartDrain assistance. AquaSense 2 has a listed weight of 23.08 pounds and cleans the floor, walls and waterline. Easier access comes with a heavier machine to handle afterward.

Read the app claim carefully: Beatbot describes one-click parking when the cleaner is at the surface. Do not assume it provides on-demand recall from every underwater position. Confirm the exact AquaSense 2 version; Pro, Ultra and accessory bundles are different listings.

Polaris FREEDOM Plus: retrieval and transport

Polaris documents a handheld LiFi remote that communicates underwater and activates Easy Lift, bringing FREEDOM Plus to the waterline. Water drains as it is removed. Its included Easy-Charge caddy addresses transport and charging once it is out.

Polaris also lists Tap & Lift and a manual hook among the retrieval options. Read the current instructions for the method you plan to use. You still need to lift the cleaner clear of the pool. Confirm that the offer includes the remote and caddy; those details do not apply to every FREEDOM-branded model.

Choose your next step

Carrying weight is my main concern

Investigate Nautilus CC if its size limits and cleaning coverage fit. Compare a drained unit in person where possible. Use the buying guide to check compatibility first.

Reaching the cleaner is the difficult part

Investigate AquaSense 2’s automatic parking or FREEDOM Plus’s remote retrieval. Ask what happens if you miss the cycle finish and which fallback works when the battery is depleted.

I have narrowed it to two models

Common questions

Does published weight tell me how heavy the lift will feel?

No. It does not describe retained water, your reaching position or the distance to storage. Use it as one comparison point rather than a measured lift-out load.

Does surface parking eliminate lifting?

No. Parking brings the handle within easier reach. You must still remove the cleaner using its approved procedure and handle the drained machine afterward.

Can I lift a corded cleaner out by its cable?

Maytronics warns against lifting a robot from the water by its cable. Follow your exact model’s shutdown and retrieval instructions and use its designated handle.
